Together with our amazing friends at Liberty's Kitchen & Grow On Urban Farms, HTNO hosted a private Farm-to-Table Dinner in March to aid the continuation of LK's mission to transform the lives of vulnerable New Orleans youth, and providing a path to bright and healthy futures through employability and life skills training.
Special thanks to all of our vendor pals and volunteers whose contributions made the night a truly special event.
New Orleans in early spring is more magical than usual, with flowering branches reaching out across clear blue skies. The weather is perfection, with still a slight chill in the air, warmed by long days of bright sunshine. It is a natural celebration that is far too brief and best when enjoyed with a cocktail among friends at a beautifully dressed table.
Setting tables is one of our favorite things. Together with our lovely friends, floral designers and urban flower farmers, Pistil & Stamen, we designed a seated dinner to toast the triumph of spring in New Orleans. After a harsh winter of wondering when the freeze would end and if the ranunculus would bloom, we were delighted by the strength of the delicate early spring harvest at Pistil & Stamen's flower farms.
We designed rich celebrations in every corner of Cane & Table, a nationally acclaimed New Orleans French Quarter bar. Cane & Table has a Caribbean vibe, serving up proto-tiki cocktails in a beautiful historic venue. The building was built in 1830, and the main room features raw plaster, exposed brick, aged mirrors and classic chandeliers. Their is a open air courtyard with local tropical flora, and up the winding staircase nestles a secluded private dining room.
We covered each space with rich textured velvet linens, minimal earthy table ware, and lush and glorious little festivals of floral design. We worked in each area separately, but the overall design implements consistent use of rich texture, vibrant color and local flora, as an ode to New Orleans' spring.
Below is a gallery showcasing some of the beautiful photographs of our tables by another member of our creative community, Lauren Carroll. We were thankful to have her capture our work and have it elevated by her talented eye
each year Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski host an evening celebrating the kickoff of carnival season to benefit the youth of New Orleans. masked guests enjoy food and drink from the country's top chefs and mixologists, and entertainment by international and local artists.
to celebrate lauren & michael's engagement, we hosted a courtyard cocktail party for the family and wedding party. we created a custom balloon installation, tropical floral arrangements and a vibrant tabletop for an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends.
